(BlackMediaScoop) Grammy-winning rapper Big Boi will not be supporting President Barack Obama any time soon.
In a recent interview, the rapper opened up about his dismay that Mary J. Blige chose to use her guest appearance on his 2008 single “Sumthin’s Gotta Give” to praise Obama.
“I didn’t tell her to do that,” Big Boi contended. “On my damn record. I had a problem with it. I’m not pro-government at all, I’m pro-people.”
“Our freedoms are getting taken away every day with things that people aren’t aware of, like the [National Defense Authorization Act],” Big Boi added. ”I don’t care who the president is — it ain’t just all about who’s black or who’s white or who’s Republican or Democrat, it’s about who is for the betterment of people, period.”
The rapper was also asked if he had “any feelings about Obama’s first term, now that he’s been re-elected.” Big Boi did not hold back.
Are you surprised? What do you think?
