ANGRY DAD MISTAKENLY SHOOTS DAUGHTER INSTEAD OF BOYFRIEND
(BlackMediaScoop) A 25-year-old woman was shot Saturday afternoon after stepping between her gun-wielding father and the man she is dating, police said.
During a domestic dispute about 2 p.m. in the 4900 block of West Quincy Street in the South Austin neighborhood on the West Side, the woman’s father pointed a gun at the woman’s 26-year-old boyfriend, Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak said.
In an attempt to protect her boyfriend, the woman stepped between the two as her father shot at the boyfriend, Kubiak said. The bullet struck his daughter in the arm, police said.
The daughter was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was listed in good condition.
Police have charged her father, 49-year-old Dante White, with one count of unlawful use of a weapon and one count of possession of a weapon with a defaced serial number.
White is a convicted felon with a gang affiliation, police said.
