(BlackMediaScoop) Three women were charged Saturday for an alleged attack on a Red Lobster waitress on Friday. This is the same Red Lobster where customers attacked a waitress just 8 months ago!
Sharrell Evans, 21, Britley Green, 22, and Geneen Green, 44, were being held on $50,000 bail at the Fairview Heights Police Department. They were charged with the felonies of mob action and aggravated battery in a public place.
The attack was the second such alleged assault on a Red Lobster waitress at the restaurant near St. Clair Square mall, although police do not believe the two incidents are related.
At about 2:15 p.m. Friday, a restaurant worker had water thrown on her and was struck repeatedly by either open hands or Red Lobster menus, police said. Three suspects were taken into custody. Police said they do not yet know what led to the alleged assault.
A similar incident happened Dec. 30 when four customers punched and pushed a waitress because they were unhappy with the service, police said. That waitress received a swollen eye and cuts on her nose and forehead. At least one person has been charged in that incident. Ania Wilkes, 20, faces two felonies: aggravated battery and mob action.
A Red Lobster spokesperson called the incident “unfortunate” and said “the safety of our employees and guests is our highest priority.”
