WHOOPI GOES “OFF” ON GOP, SLAVERY & SINGLE MOMS
(blackmediaSCOOP) Whoopi Goldberg went OFF on GOP presidential candidates and their conservative friends who attack single parents.
The View co-host blew up at several presidential candidates who pledged their allegiance tothe conservative group Family Leader that seeks to commit the Republican hopefuls to traditional marriage between a man and a woman.
An early version of the pledge, which has been signed by Michele Bachmann and Rick Santorum, contained language that suggested black children born into slavery had a better family situation than black children born today. The Family Leader, dropped the slavery language from the pledge’s preamble, saying it had been “misconstrued.”
Goldberg lashed out at the racial tone and those who try to knock down single parents. As you know the actress/comedian was raised by her mother after her father left the family.
So what do you think? Was Whoopi right to go off on GOP? Were blacks better off in slavery than they are now? Should single parents get the same respect as a 2 couple household?
