SUPREME COURT DISSES WESLEY SNIPES
(blackmediaSCOOP) Actor Wesley Snipes will get no help from the U.S Supreme Court.

Today the high court refused to hear his appeal to get his prison sentence overturned. Snipes was convicted in 2008 on 3 misdemeanor counts of willful failure to file income tax returns. In December, he turned himself in to serve 3 years in federal prison in Pennsylvania. He’ll be released in 2013.

Snipes says his constitutional rights were violated when federal prosecutors filed charges in Florida and a judge denied his lawyers a hearing to explain why the venue was inappropriate.
